Links for Students

This site provides students the opportunity to practice Language Arts and Math skills through fun games.  Games are tied to specific skills that correlate with the Common Core State Standards.  Students have fun playing these educational games which are age appropriate while practicing specific skills at the same time.

IXL lets you practice exactly the skills you are looking to fine tune.  Search for specific standards by state and grade level and IXL provides interactive models for practice.  You can also create goals and monitor  performance with this interactive site!  Memberships can be purchased Monthly or Yearly or for classrooms.

With a Raz-Kids membership, students, teachers and parents can gain access to many books according to specific reading levels.  These books can be printed or read online to practice reading skills.  When finished, progress can be monitored through a variety of online assessments.  Books can be read indepently or read aloud by the site providing extra support for students.  Additional practice materials can be found on the site to support the various books.

This site focuses on primary grade levels reading and phonics skills.  Activities are interactive and catergorized based on skills.  Many activities are free, while there is an opportuntiy to join the site for a fee for additional activities.  Along with interactive activities, the site provides a variety of e-readers that students can read indepentely or hear on the electronic device.

Young students have fun on the PBS site with characters that are familiar and loveable to them.  The great thing is, students are learning at the same time.  PBS provides many great activities in Science and Social Studies for young students to explore.  Additionally, students can practice Language Arts, Math, and other skills that apply to school such as coloring skills.

Scholastic provides many opportunities for students, parents, and teachers from access to print books and e-books to access to student friendly magazines.  Scholastic is a go-to source for age appropriate educational materials and reading materials for enjoyment.  There is also a great page on the website for students broken up by age groups, providing fun and interactive educational activities.

This site offers a variety of free activities such as Sight Word practice broken up by grade levels as well as different activities to practice grammar skills, to name a few.  With a membership to Spelling City, students may practice their differentiated spelling words through various actitivities as well as take assessments specific to their own spelling lists.

This is a popular site in many classrooms to support subjects, especially the Sciences.  There are many great features for students as well such as Homework Help and WebMath, to name a few.  Additionally, you can find sources to gain further information on a topic such as many great educationational film clips and practice with games.

With such a recent emphasis on Informational Text and the Sciences in education, students need to have access to non-fiction media at their own levels.  This site provides many great forms of media to do this.  Students can watch videos, read articles, view photographs and play a variety of games on this site.  Additional membership is available.

This site provides a wide variety of educational games and a variety of activities for all core academic subjects.  Students can search for activities based on academic subject or grade level.  This site provides one of the best interactive sites for students to have fun while practicing skills in Social Studies on the Internet.
